  1. Old Story
    Once upon a time there were great bonfires lit in this district on St John's night. One St John's night the boys of the neighbourhood went into an old burying ground and lit a bonfire. When the fire blazed up the whole company were blinked blind. Then a great loneliness seized them and they ran home in terror. It was thought that the dead were disturbed by the sport.
