  1. Our townland is Derryleigh. It is four miles from the village of Sneem. There are seven farms and seven houses in it presently. In olden times it was in larger portions.
    It was divided by Colonel Warden into smaller portions. Before the land was divided there was a Shea man living in Derryleigh who owned all Derryleigh at that time. He was one of the Shea's of Rosdochan. He was a drunkard and spent all he had, so he had to leave the place. It is said he was in a public house in Sneem one
