  1. There was once a man whose name was Seán gan Eagla, and he always wanted to prove to people that fairies would not frighten him. He once went to a poor woman's house. This woman had only one cow and one field in which the cow used feed. There was no grass growing in the field for a long time and so the cow had no place to feed. The woman told this to Seán. That night Seán went out to the field, and after a while fairies came there and began to play ball. Seán joined in their fun and when
