  2. About a hundred years ago ploughing with oxen was very common in the parish of Conahy. Up to about fifty years ago it was done by a ploughman of Donoughmore, Ballyragget named Mr. Walsh. He also used them for churning.
    The oxen were yoked to the plough as horses are now, but they had to be guided and it was mostly with their heads that they pulled the plough. It was difficult
