  1. There were matches played in the district in olden times in Ballyouskill between Ballynakill and Brandera.
    There were fifteen men on each team. The game was between Townlands. Tom Mooney was a good footballer. Brandera beat Ballynakill be one point. The ball was never driving from one Townland to another. The ball was a very big one. They were goal posts used. The team had their own trousers and a jersey.
