    Robin: While our Lord was hanging on the cross it is said that a robin came and plucked one of the thorns out of his head and a drop of the blook fell on his breast and ever since every robin has a red breast.

    Finch: One day the great bird called all the birds together. They were dressed in dull grey. She showed them a rainbow and told them to pick each a splendid colour. They each took their colours. "Then" she said "ye have all got a colour and ye should be pleased."
