  1. On Christmas night every donkey goes down on his two knees. The people give them oats or meal. The rest of the animals roar. They go down on their knees at twelve o'clock in the night. The donkey goes down on her knees if she is outside or if she is inside to honour Our Lord. The donkey has worn the cross on his back from Our Lord rode on him.
