  2. The famine came to Ireland about ninety years ago. There were porridge houses. The people went to them for a tin of porridge.
    The potatoes failed with the blight. The blight came for the first time to Ireland. Potatoes were the people chief food. When they failed the people had to eat boiled weed and new turnips. The roads were black with dying people.
