    The man was his shadow. He said "poor fellow you must be hungry" and he began throwing him spoons of the gruel and by the time he reached the brother there was nothing in the saucepan. The brother said "Where is my dinner" and he said " I gave it to that fellow there" pointing to his shadow.
    "Tis no harm to say you are a fool" said the brother very angry. The brother said to him "Take that axe and dont let them cattle stir till I return." The brother went away for his dinner. As soon as he had gone the first cow that stirred he cut off her legs with the axe. And by the time the brother returned he had all of them nearly finished. When the brother came to him, he said "What have you done" "Didn't you tell me not to leave them stir." The brother then began to lament and said "What will we do now. We will be all killed. The only thing we have to do now is to ramble away where we wont be found." The two went away together. When it was coming near the night, the clever brother began to lament. They were crossing an old house and the fool saw and idle door standing near the house.
