    The various coins are called as follows:-
    Penny is called a Brownie or Wing.
    A Three-Penny-Piece is called a [?] eye and nowadays it is called Rabbit.
    A six-penny-bit is called a "Tanner"
    A shilling is called a Bob
    The Pound note is called a "Raf" a "National" or a "Quid".
    A Five Pound or a Ten Pound note is called a Blanket.
    Some coins have gone out of use e.g. The farthing, a four-penny-piece, the four-shilling-piece, the crown or Five Shilling piece the half sovereign and the sovereign.
    One man name John Fitzgerald J Cragg, Farranfore Co. Kerry put a certain mark on a penny one day here at home. He spent that penny on sweets. He afterwards went to America (New York) and while there he got his penny in exchange for something.
