This man was coming through these fields and before he came to a certain field, he heard a great buying and selling and making bargains on these cattle. This man had a machine for making poteen. As he came up someone struck the machine with a stick. "Clear the way for Jack Hyland," a voice shouted. Well, they cleared the road. When he came home he found his horse dead. He skinned him for to sell the skin. He threw the skin on a bone to dry. When he went to bed that night the firing began and the skin was blown to pieces.
