    you may safely count on a fruitful year.

    They expect a hard and cold winter.
    Plenty of Haws and plenty of Berries
    tells of a hard and snowy Winter.
    In October - If on the trees the leaves still hold
    The coming Winter will be cold.
    When the wild birds keep inland
    and continue crying it is a sign of rain
