  1. If a girl wash her nightgown in a stream west of her home and put it to dry on a chair on Nov. Eve. Then let her sit in the corner of the house by herself and at the minute the clock strikes twelve the person she'll marry will turn the nightgown.
    If a person of the house is to die or a baby is to be born on the morn after Nov. Eve the track of a foot faced in or out will be on the hearth.
    Go round a stack of oats three times on Nov. Eve at twelve o' clock then stick a black handled knife in the stack. In your dream that night you'll see the person you'll marry and he'll give you the knife.
