    an apple to a string and then they tie the string to the ceiling. Then they try to catch the apple with their mouths without putting their hands to it. The people buy a barm-brack and when they are eating it there is great excitement to see who will get the ring. It is said if you look in the mirror at twelve o clock at night on Hallowe'en you will see your future husband or wife.
    Christmas.
    It is a custom to have a light in every room on Christmas Night to welcome Our Lord. The door is sometimes left unlocked so that Our Lord could come in for shelter in the night.
