    and pressed into it. Then it is dipped in cooler of water when print of butter falls off leaving same impression on it as print from which it was taken. Before the introduction of spades the butter was beaten with hand against side of cooler to take off milk. There are different brands of churns now in this vicinity and there are different ways for taking off the butter. For instance there is a plug in end of some of them as, in the barrel churn, and this plug is taken out and milk put through a strainer. The milk, as it is taken off, is put in some other vessel so that when last of milk is out churn is empty. Then the churn can be immediately cleaned, and left ready for next churning.
