  1. When there is a mist over the sun there will be rain. At night when there are numbers of stars and when they are glittering brightly it is a sure sign of frost. When the clouds look heavy and start moving from South to North it is for rain. When the rainbow appears it is for misty and soft weather. You would never see a rainbow in good weather. The old saying is - "A rainbow in the morning is the shepherd's warning and a rainbow at night is the shepherd's delight" When there is a ring around the moon or when it lies on its back rain is at hand. The worst wind we have here is the South-West. It brings rain. Wind from the North is hard and cold and wind from the East is dry. We have a number of weather omens from birds. If the swallows fly high in Summer time we will have good weather. If rooks fly
