- Once upon a time, about eighty years ago, at Ballyglass, Calry, Co. Sligo, there lived a gentleman named Mr. Gillmor. The house was burned down by some unknown person. There was nobody in the house at the time except the servants. A maid, who was outside, saw two neighbouring men going home from card-playing. She swore to the police that these were the men who had burned the house. They were tried in court and sentenced to be hanged in Sligo gaol.
