    There was also a poet Murray who lived in the same district. But while MacGoverns could do best in praises Murray was the opposite. Here is a sample of Murray's poetry. This happened after a Parliamentary Election of long ago, when none but people who had certain valuations had a vote, and the voting was in public, and anyone qualified to vote, for the choice of the people's candidate came in for a hard criticism and then if they did not vote for the landlord's choice they would like be immediately served with a notice "to quit." Murray often naming and commenting on each individual voter, who voted for the landlord's candidate, wound up with the following verse:-
    May brim stone smoke them
    And sulphur choke them
