  1. About one hundred and fifty years ago a land agent named Coehrane for more than one landlord short three days, one after the other, lifting Rents in the village of Cloone. During these days a man named O'Rourke conspired with a man named Ryan - locally called MullRyan - a blacksmith in Cloone and another man to rob this agent of the Rent on his way home to the County Ceavan. O'Rourke pointed out to his fellow conspirators that it was a shame to let this foreigner away with so much money from the fair fields of Breiggne. The other two agreed.
    The selected as their place of Ambush Drumsilla, about two miles East of the village of Cearrigallan. Just at O'Brien gate Drumsilla Coehrane was held up by these three men and reliesed of all the money believed to be thousands of Pounds. Then they allowed him to go to O'Brien's house now owned by a man named Wilson.
    Coehrane had to walk only about thirty (?) from the place where he was robbed to O'Brien's house. He went quickly and told his story to O'Brien. In a few minutes more O'Briend was on the back of his swiftes horse and off to Cloone to report it
