    There was a Hackler living in Rantogue, where Willie Rourke is living now...

    There was a Hackler living in Rantogue, where Willie Rourke is living now, about 65 years ago, and there was also a linen-weaver in that townland who wove linen from the flax grown in the district then. At that time the district was very thickly populated. There were at least two houses at that time for the one there is to-day. The families then were large. An average family would be about 10 children while six would be considered small; to-day six in family is looked on as above the average. There were many houses - homes - in the bogs then, but as they were of the mud-wall type there is no
