- (continued from previous page)again. The old man asked him what he wanted and Shane said to fill his father's house with gold. They all went to bed that night and next morning the house was filled with gold. The king said Shane was the cause of this and they asked Shane and he told them the whole story, and the king warned him again not to have any more to do with him.
Shane went out as usual and the grey man was outside. He challenged Shane again and Shane didn't want to play, but after forcing him, Shane played and the old man won. Shane asked him what he wanted. He said he wanted nothing, but that if he didn't find out where he was living, before the end of a year and a day, he should go with him. He told Shane his name was Old Grey Norris.
Shane went in home and told his story, and they were asking everyone but nobody knew about Norris. It was fourteen days from that time, and there was awful noise in the house. There was a very old nurse in the house and she asked what all the noise was about. So they told her but she nothing about him. She told him he had three(continues on next page)
