    He charges five shillings for a set of shoes. The next forge is near Effernagh and the smiths name is Mr Tommy Scollan. There is a thatched roof on it also and he charges from four to five shillings for a set of shoes. The forge is situated on the side of a road and there is a zinc roof on it. The next forge that I know is in Carrick-on-Shannon. The name of the blacksmith is Mr Thomas Gilroy and there is a zinc roof on it. He charges five shillings for a set of shoes. Blacksmiths also fix any iron instrument that is broken
