them to leave the stone as they got it and they did so. Their trouble ceased and neither the pot of gold nor the squealing of the cat troubled them again.

My house is situated on the Ballinamore road about two miles from Drumshanbo. From our kitchen window we have a wonderful view of the little mountain named Shemore which is so rich in folklore.

In ancient times when the Danes were leaving Ireland after the battle of Clontarf. One of the Danish Chieftains left most of his treasures in the cave in Shemore.
