  1. An Irishman and Englishman and a Scotchman were standing round a barrel of porter one day. Pat the Irishman had a loaf with him and he let if fall in. The Scotchman and the Englishman began to laugh. After a few hours Pat took out the loaf and it had all the porter soaked up.
