  1. Long ago there were very few doctors and the people had cures. Now when a person is sick the doctor is sent for. These are some of the cures.
    1. A cure for a sty on your eye is point a gooseberry thorn at it seven times and throw the thorn your shoulder and it will cure it
    2. A cure for the chin- cough is, if you get a potato lost on the road boil it and and eat it and it will cure it.
    3. A cure for boiles pull some sorral leaves and boil them and leave them on the boil and it will cure them.
