    lifted out of the churn with the strainer and put into the wooden dish, the salt is then added and mixed through the butter. After this the person gets a knife and runs it through the butter so that they leave no hair in the butter. If anybody enters the house during the churning it is a custom that they take the dash and churn for a few minutes in order that they will not take the butter with them. The dash is generally left in a bush near the door to ensure cleanliness.
