  1. Once upon a time a man named Francis Rogan was coming home from a neighbour's house where he had been playing cards. He lived in the townland of Garloughcahill which is situated about a mile from the village of Drumkeerin. The night was very dark and he had a pack of cards in his pocket. When he was about to enter the house he suddenly saw that there was no door and instead a blank wall faced him.
He walked round and round the house but could not get in. Suddenly he thought of the pack of cards in his pocket. He took them out and threw them away. Immediately he saw the door and he got in. he never played cards.
It is a old belief in this district that if you play cards late or carry a pack of cards late at night something bad is sure to happen to you.
