  1. Some people believe that there are fairies in this district but I have never seen one. There is a hill about half a mile to the North of this village called Cnocán Locht and it is noted for fairies. One evening two old men were sitting on this hill and they heard churning under them. the names of these men were Edward Torpey and John Duggan an when they heard the churning they came home quickly.
    There is another hill about a mile and a half to the West of this village called Scalp na gcat and it is believed that cats were seen here some time ago. The is another place about a mile to the North of this village where the people cut turf an lights have
