  1. About a quarter mile from Ahascragh is situated the horse block.
    Long ago there used to be a gallows there where people used to be hanged and if anybody did anything out of the way they would be hanged.
    During that time there lived a man named Hardyman he was the owner of a printing house. He used to print for the Fianna and the people of the district did not like it so they resolved to hang him.
    At the same time there lived a man named McDonagh and he lived in Killure
