    When St. Joseph, the Blessed Virgin and the Child Jesus were fleeing from Herod's soldiers to Egypt, they rode on an ass and ever after that the ass has a cross on its back.
    On their journey to Egypt, they came to a house where they asked for shelter for the night and the woman of the house brought them in and gave them supper. Then she told them that she would give them her own bed to sleep on but she told them not to let the man of the house know They were there when he would come in. Next morning the woman of the
