Skerries is Saint Columcille. St Columcille prophesized that the sea would reach the Mill Hill by the end of the world.
The mark of St. Patrick's foot when he stepped on the mainland may still be seen. He sat down on a rock to the north of Skerries and the mark of where he sat down is call St. Patrick's Chair.
