    On St Stephen's Day
    She was caught in the furze,
    She dipped her wing in a barrel of beer
    A happy Christmas and a merry New Year.
    On Shrove Tuesday the people make pancakes and toss them up in the air and catch again on the pan.
    On St Brigid's Day the people make little straw crosses and hang them above their doors.
    On Ash Wednesday the priest blesses
