    voyage. Stumpy appeared to them on his stumps of legs although the old couple boasted that Stumpy would not be able to appear to them that night. At that instant he appeared. They remained in America for sometime. Getting no peace they returned home to the Red Brae and they were haunted by Stumpy till the day of their death.
    Their decendants were also haunted by him. Following a few lines of poetry written about them.
    In the wild woods of America
    Unpleasant nights they sat
    He haunts them to their dying day
    And haunts their children yet.
