    saluted him and he also saluted them. The woman spoke to the pedlar. "Yours is a thriving trade." The pedlar replied, "Many a mile I have travelled and many a penny I have made." He lay down in the corner and fell asleep. While he was a sleep the old couple murdered him, in order to get his money. They got his money they tried to put him in the pack but he was too long. They cut his legs off at the knees. They put him in the pack and carried him over a small stream and buried him. The pedlar rose up in the grave and said "Ill haunt you far and Ill haunt you near.
