time poor Nancy and the children were saying the Rosary imploring God and His Blessed Mother to bring Paddy safely home. Hearing a noise just as they finished the Rosary Nancy hurried to the door, and on opening it who should fall in but Paddy still unconscious. The old story tells us that the fairies carried him home and propped him up against the door. When he came round he had much to explain. He never tasted drink after that and took good care never to pass the haunt of the fairies at night.
