    From the first day of December till Christmas there are bands of people called "mummers", who go round rhyming. They are all dressed in different colours. it is always at night they come. there is an old saying that the witches come on the first day of May and take away the good of the milk.
    On Hallow E'en night people eat apples, nuts, and pears and play games.
    Bands are played on St. Patrick's day. If any man drinks whiskey he drowns the shamrock.
    People eat a lot of eggs on Easter Sunday.
