    has to stand at each corner and act as a guard. Then the rest of the players act as motors and when they are going round the corners they have to blow their horn for fear they might dash into another motor. When the guard sees a motor coming he puts up his hand and makes him stop. Then the guard asks him where he has his lights and the driver will show him two buttons. Then he will ask him to see his license and the driver will show him something else and at last the guard will ask him to blow his horn and he will blow it.
    If he has not these things he will put him into gaol but he can run out any time he likes. He does the same thing when he goes to the next guard and so on.

  2. When we are playing old man there is someone chosen to be the old man. This old man is to be very cross and everywhere he goes he carries a stick with him. The children all pretend that they are coming home from school. They call him names, (e.g.) old beggar, old lazy-bones, and so on. He is very angry and
