  1. Old Crafts - Candle, soap and basket making and forge work.
    Long ago a great many people made candles. They made them out of tallow and lard which were got from cows and pigs. They put the tallow and lard into a large pot on the fire to melt. They had sally rods. They were dipped into the pot.
    Then they were put into moulds and some more stuff was poured in. Theyremained in the moulds until they were stiff.
    The people made about a stone of candles in a night. Then they sold them cheaply in shops.
    Long ago some people made soap. I do not know how it was made or what it was made out of.
    There was soap made up near Irenta. Even yet you can see the machinery and all the things that were used in the making of it. Rubber and leather were made at it also.
