The men would have a bottle of whisky and between them all they would drink it. Then the men would leave and go home. Soon after this the wedding would take place. At that time the people went on horse back to get married. When they got married the people got out as quickly as they could and got their horses saddled and raced each other home. The saddles were made of straw. When they came home they had a feast and some drink. Money or even a cow or a pig was given as a dowry to the bride from her father.
    Nowadays matches are not made as frequently as they were long ago. When any person is getting married now, they do not go on horse-back like long ago they go on motor cars. There are flowers and ribbons on the cars to decorate them. Before people get married they ask all their friends to the wedding. Usually the friends give the bride and groom presents.
