    His favourite stories were about ghosts.
    A ship was wrecked off Cloonmass strand about sixty years ago. There was a general cargo on board, but the people did not get much of the cargo, as there were coastguards guarding it. Some people managed to get some sugar, but that was all. There was a man's stack of corn burned to the ground a good many years ago. It was purposely done by a man named Mc Clafferty who had a grudge against this farmer. The was a plague of worms one time, on a bog belonging to a man named Paterson. The worms were an enormous size and there were bumps of them on the bog, after a while they vanished. There was a bad flu in this district fifty years ago, and there was another flu eighteen years ago, a great many people died with it. There was a great gale in this district fifty years ago. Corn stack were tumbled and roofs were stripped off houses. There was a great snowstorm sixty years
