  1. Food in olden times was not the same as it is nowadays.
    In olden times they ate only two meals a day, breakfast and dinner. They rose about six o'clock in the morning and they had half-a-day's work done before their breakfast.
    The people had no table and they all sat in a circle in the middle of the floor, and ate whatever they had, which was usually, potatoes or porridge.
    The Bread used was Boxty & Stampy.
    Boxty Bread was made out of potatoes and flour. It was a little lighter than potato bread.
    The people did not know how to make tea in olden times. There is a story told about a girl and a minister. There was a minister who visited this house, where a girl was living. He asked her to make him a cup of tea. She got the tea-pot and
