One day while he was out walking he passed between two high hills and a fairy came out and invited him in.
Unfortunately he accepted the invitation and went in with him into the fort.
The fairy ordered a cup of tea for the guest, and when he partook of it he got up to go away, the fairy said to him, “you cannot go away yet.” Oh, yes, I must,” said the man, “I have to be in Aranmore before midnight and it is 11.30. p.m. now.” “Oh no, you need not hurry yourself a bit, you know you will not be in Aranmore at midnight, stay here until to-morrow and you can leave early in the morning.” Good enough says the man, “that’s the very thing I will do.” The man went to bed, and at seven o’clock in the morning he awoke and got his breakfast.
