James Tinmey of the Augh carried a 2 cwt bag of meal from Collin’s shop Laghey to his home a distance of four miles. - Candles were made in this district over eighty years ago. First they peeled freen rushes, then they tied them up and left them over the fire to dry. Then they dipped them in melted tallow or fat.
Tallow Candles
Dip candles were made by dipping them in tallow, and mould candles were made by a mould.
Soap
