Tallow candles :mould shape of candle -nail on top to which 2 pieces of thread have been joined. Turn mould upside down.- draw threads (twisted) through centre and hold while pouring in melted sheep's tallow.
Spunk? piece of brown paper strike it on stone & would ? not blaze -used for lighting pipe.
