    felt. She haunted the roads from Waterford City to country places. the traveller was unaware of her presence until he suddenly perceived that his horse was in a state of exhaustion, panting and perspiring. Suddenly suspicious he would look sharply at the other side of the ear and there he would discover his unwelcome companion. Her great weight always made her presence known.
