  1. St Bridgid's Eve the 2nd of February people put out a band of ribbon and leave it out all night for St Brigid to bless it. It is said that the band when blessed would cure a headache.
    The night before 24th of June people used to light a bone fire and pass the cattle near it or around it.
    On St Patrick's day a cross is made on the left arm with a burnt stick.
    The last night of April people put Easter water on all the crops and cattle so that the fairies or people working charms would not take them.
    On the 31st of October colcannon used be made and people go for Hollamish on that night.
    November 10th is St Martin's night. A fowl is killed on that night and the blood is sprinkled on the door posts.
