    is called a copper and a wing. A threepenny bit is called a kid's eye. A sixpenny bit is called a tanner. A shilling is called a bob. A pound is called a quid. A fourpenny bit and a sovereign a half sovereign and a tenpenny piece is now gone out of use. There are not any stories about coins which always return to their owner in the district.
    It was considered unlucky to pay money on that day for goods bought on a Sunday; you would give away your luck for the coming week.
