    day of April it is all fools day, Long ago the people did not put down any fire until they saw the smoke rising out of another house, They said it is unlucky to be the first to put down a fire, On that morning also if the man of the house got up before the sun rose and washed his face in the dew he could loosen any knot, Anyone that is born on Whit Sunday is cross and wicked. On May day also the people did not clean the stable because they thought is was unlucky,
