    stayed a week in every house. She was teaching in it for ten years. She taught three subject: English Reading, Writing, And Arithmetic. She taught English mostly. The children had English books only. They did their sums on slates. They had no pens like we have now. They had seats made from wood all around inside in the sandpit. The people said they had good education and that the girl was a good teacher.
