   St John's Day. The 23rd June is St John's day. It is customary with the people of this district to make a big fire, which is called a bonfire, because there is a bone in it. There is usually great fun at the bonfire. The old people as well as the young people attend at the fire. They put paraffin oil on a bag and throws it up in the air. Before the fire quenches each person says some prayers around the fire. Each householder brings a coal from the
